Shocking: Kenya School Discovers 20 Pregnant Girls!

The administration of a school in Bungoma County, Kenya was left in utter shock after they found out that 20 girls at the institution were pregnant.
The discovery at Chelebei Secondary school came to light following the school’s routine check-up usually conducted after students resume from their holiday breaks.
Deputy Principal David Emachar stated: “It was a simple pregnancy routine test that we normally carry out when the girls report back from holiday and from the results we discovered that 20 of our girls were pregnant”.
According to Mr Emachar, among the 20 teenagers aged between 14 and 20 were 4 – Form Four students while the rest spread in the other classes.
Teachers blamed the prevalence on the lack of boarding facilities at the school.
The reports follow a separate incident at Chepkurkur Primary School in Mt Elgon, where 18 girls dropped out of school after they were impregnated.
According to a survey carried out by Kenya Population Situation Analysis, 103 in every 1000 pregnancies in the country involved girls between 15 and 19 years.
